DaCosta Cup football has been contested by the rural schools of Jamaica since 1950, yet no school in the contiguous parishes from Trelawney to St. Thomas has ever lifted the championship trophy. In all the fifty odd years that the competition was actually held only thrice has any team from the aforementioned region been to the finals- Titchfield High School in 1982 and 2003, and William Knibb Memorial High in 2002.Titchfield in recent times have had some success, getting to the quarter final stage in 2001, the final in 2003, but never yet taking it all, to be the first team from our part of the island to win the coveted title.Titchfield’s performance in the 2008 season was a challenging one. The team was not able to progress out of the zone. The team played eight matches; they won three, drew three and lost two.
